Food industry

Food processing companies

Transportation and storage

It is impossible to imagine our lives without food; milk, fruit, berries, vegetables, meat, eggs, fish, grain and other, as well as products made of the above are an integral part of a human’s life. Most of people in the whole world buy products from hypermarkets or marketplaces, to which products are supplied by food companies or farmers. Food processing industry is one of the oldest ones here in Latvia, and it plays a very important role in the Latvian economy.
Almost 20% of the total area of Latvia consist of arable land giving us a possibility to grow our own local products, and the producers are able to trace the quality of their products to ensure that an end-consumer receives an approved, safe and qualitative product.
We are also known as great producers of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. One of our strongest points is the production of beer; there are over 20 breweries registered in Latvia and only a small part of the manufactured products is exported to other countries, because the demand from our locals and our visitors is very high.
Most of the manufactured products are realized by Latvian food processing companies here in Latvia, however more than 30% of the total products manufactured in this industry are exported abroad. The global financial crisis of 2009 has influenced the total indicators in the industry, the same as the Russian import ban of 2015 has, nevertheless Latvian producers have successfully recovered from the difficulties experienced, and a slow, but steady growth can be felt now.
The Latvian food processing companies strive to ensure that equipment used is up-to-date, efficient and environmentally friendly. Only by…

Entering a new market through
purchase of another company

Pharmacies

For successful development of a company it has to focus on expansion of its customer base, reinvestment of profit into new assets, as well as development of the product range offered or introduction of new products.
On the one hand, there is a possibility to grow organically, thus the head of a company can feel safer and feels a greater control over the situation, because he or she knows the business inside out, knows the company’s management well, feels comfortable in the market, and feels satisfied with each decision made, since it is immediately put into practice.
On the other hand, an entrepreneur can grow inorganically through merger of own company with another one or through acquisition of a new one. That will…

The role of an M&A advisor
in the process

Pharmacies

An M&A project is one of the most significant corporate events for a company, stamped in its history forever, this is common for small as well as large businesses. It is important to do it the best way possible.
Sounding simple, a complete M&A process is complex and takes time. A successful M&A transaction requires a plan and methodical implementation. There are different reasons why the involvement of a consultant is beneficial. There are many steps to be taken before signing a contract: First, an appropriate buyer for a company has to be found.
